Two examples of the PROFEC applications are provided with the AMBER release. The first, biotin, shows an application where PROFEC is used to suggest modifications of biotin that improve its binding to streptavidin. The second example shows an alternative application of PROFEC: in cpe, PROFEC is used to explore modifications of an unnatural amino acid (***) that might improve the thermal stability of T4 lysozyme.
